Mercedes-Benz is now offering a new ‘Grand Edition’ version of its chic and cheerful entry-level GLK SUV.
Available with a price tag of just under US$48,000, the popular GLK now comes with special 20 inch five-spoke alloy wheels, panoramic sunroof with twin electrically operated blinds, footplates and an aerodynamic package with a diffuser-look rear apron integrating the exhausts and fog lights replacing the standard LEDs on the more aggressive front spoiler.
Included with the Grand Edition is an interior sports package that consists of a three-spoke multifunction steering wheel with column gear-change paddles, a silver coloured tube type instrument cluster, aluminium trim, an interior light package and ‘Nappa’ leather trim on the steering wheel and gear lever.
"The new GLK is part of our successful SUV family of the ML-Class, GL-Class, G-Class and offers typical Mercedes-Benz attributes such as refinement, dynamism and safety in a compact format,” said Frank Bernthaler, Director, Sales and Marketing, Mercedes-Benz Middle East & Levant. “We raised the segment bar with the GLK and are raising it yet again with the Grand Edition.”
With its functional yet attractive and striking body lines, standard leather interior, and extraordinary capabilities both on and off the road, the distinctive GLK set new standards in the compact SUV segment at its launch in 2008.
Working in conjunction with the onboard electronic control systems, the variable 4MATIC four-wheel drive ensures perfect on-road performance together with well-balanced off-road capabilities.
Superior performance is also assured with the small SUV available in two six cylinder engine versions. The GLK 300 comes with 231 horsepower while the 3.4 litre 272 horsepower GLK 350 model can hit 100 kmh in just 6.7 seconds – that’s sports car performance!
