FIAT 500
Posted by Peter Fatey, Abu Dhabi: I’ve been seeing some Fiat 500s around town, particularly yellow. What’s the story? I like them but I didn’t know they were here officially. They look snazzy and might give Mini a run for their money if the price is right.

Posted by Peter Shrimpton, Abu Dhabi: I supposed I shouldn’t be surprised but I was run of a roundabout by an idiot talking on a mobile phone. I got my head together, got back o the road and at the very next roundabout a woman sending a text veered across and nearly got me but as I was avoiding her I nearly clouted the next car. Wasn;t there going to be something done about this?

We’re handing back the Fusion and we’ll give you a run-down in Middle East Car shortly but we thought we should talk about something other than it being so frugal.

The 2010 Fusion made its debut early in 2009 and it could have gone either way but Alan Mullaly’s ‘One Ford’ policy isn’t producing duds. The new design cues backed up by solid engineering revisions resonated with members of the public we ran into in our meanderings around the UAE.

Ford refreshed the Fusion and the changes are all good with new front and rear treatments and fresh interiors filled with soft touch materials. Mechanically, there came more power and better transmission for 2010 and a host of goodies like Ford’s “Easy Fill” capless fuel filling system.
